Our Blackpool office recently joined racers, runners and walkers to raise more than £3,000 for local charity, N-Vision.
The annual three pier walk gives participants the option to run or walk either three, five or six miles, looping the distance between each of Blackpool’s South, Central and North Piers.
The sponsored event raises vital funds for the independent charity, which for more than a century, has supported thousands of people living on the Fylde with reduced or no vision. All the money raised goes towards delivering its range of services that includes supporting 2,500 visually impaired people in the community, The Princess Alexandra Residential Care Home, a dedicated residence for visually impaired people and those with disabilities and homecare services spanning cleaning, shopping and gardening.
Our Blackpool accountancy practice has supported the charity with audit and accounts services for a number of years, and continue to pledge their personal support.
Trina Parkinson from N-Vision said: “Our three piers walk gets bigger each year, with more people taking part and even more money raised. Everything goes towards making sure that we can continue supporting anyone locally with reduced vision, regardless of their age, as the services we provide cost more than £350,000 each year to deliver – a figure that keeps on rising.”
“A huge thank to everyone at Champion who took part again this year and for the ongoing support as our accountancy partner. They’re always so friendly, supportive and flexible and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending them to others.”
