A team of superheroes from Champion’s Chester office have successfully climbed a 3,500 ft mountain, all in the name of charity.

SuperTed, Spiderman, Iron Man, Bat Girl and Super Mario were amongst a team of 17 invincible superheroes and superdog to successfully summit Mount Snowdon on Saturday 20th September.

Underneath the guises were Champion team members, friends and family members who collectively helped raise more than £2,200 for the Brain Tumour Charity and The Countess of Chester Breast Care Unit. The team chose to support these charities after two of their colleagues were sadly diagnosed with the conditions.

Having started the ascent at 9.30am, the team traversed rocky terrain, temperamental weather conditions and thick fog, reaching the peak at 12.30pm.

Victoria Jones, who dressed as Bat Girl said: “Climbing Snowdon is definitely one of the most psychically gruelling challenges that we’ve faced as a team, but thanks to everyone that took part and the generosity of our sponsors, we managed to raise a superb amount for two worthy causes.”

Andrew Hopwood, director at Champions Chester Office, who dressed as SuperTed said: “We’re all extremely proud of the team’s achievement.”

“Both charities do such admirable work raising awareness of the conditions, funding research into treatments and providing support to sufferers. We like to help them in any way we can and we’re delighted that our donations will go towards helping others in the local community.”
