The Company
With more than 30 years’ experience in the sheet metal and fabricating industry, North West SteelCraft is one of the leading manufacturers of complex sheet metal designs in the region.
Based in Blackpool, the company was established in 2014 and now has a team of six delivering various unique sheet metal products for commercial clients and the public.
With its ability to create individual designs which bring to life a client’s vision, North West SteelCraft is often called upon to produce bespoke structures for use in factory settings. In particular, the company has been tasked with creating one-of-a-kind acid tanks to store fluids used to strip alloy wheels, and guards for use on food processing machines, to protect operatives from injuring themselves during production. The fabrication of these customised products saw the company qualify for R&D tax relief.
The Solution
Already a loyal customer of Champion’s, North West SteelCraft’s director, Ryan Bonney, asked us to support him with a claim.
Ryan said: “I didn’t really know what R&D tax relief was, but if we were going to explore it, it would only be with Champion – I trust them completely to support our business. I was introduced to the company’s R&D specialists, who supported us with every step of our application.
“Given we started the process at the start of the pandemic and most conversations took place remotely, the service was still the impeccable standard I’m used to from Champion. I’ve recommended other business owners speak to Champion and see if they can support them too, because they make everything so easy.”
North West SteelCraft received £36,988 in tax relief, which it will invest into machinery to further broaden its business’ portfolio of services.
