We’re reminding clients who’ve utilised the furlough scheme that the Government’s contribution towards employee wages will be reduced from 1st July. From this date, employers will only be able to claim 70 per cent of employee wages and will be required to top this up to 80 per cent themselves.
Similarly, in August, there will be another change – employers will only be able to claim 60 per cent of employee wages and be required to top this up by a further 20 per cent, to 80 per cent, themselves.
The furlough scheme is expected to end in September, but we will continue to update you on any progress or changes to the schedule.
The deadline has also now passed to apply for the fourth self-employment income support scheme (SEISS) grant, but eligible individuals will be able to apply for a fifth grant in the coming weeks.
This fifth grant will cover the period May to September 2021, and we will guide you on how and when you can claim this grant in due course.
