Champion’s Charity Team recently hosted a practical webinar to help charities understand and prepare for the new Charity SORP.
The session, Making the New SORP Accounts Rules Work for Your Charity, was led by Peter Buck and Paul Bell from Champion’s specialist Charity Team, and focused on what charities should be doing now to prepare for the changes.
With more than 300 pages of SORP guidance, the webinar was designed to cut through the detail and highlight the areas most relevant to charities, finance teams, trustees and those involved in the accounts process.
During the session, Peter and Paul explored:
- How to make your Accounts work harder to tell your story and support funding bids
- What information charities should be collecting throughout the year
- How to clearly demonstrate achievements and impact
- Key updates to income recognition and lease accounting
- What auditors will expect
- Practical ways to reduce year-end complexity
- How the new rules apply across different charity sizes
- Key SORP hot topics most relevant to charities
The webinar also covered practical steps charities can take now to prepare more confidently, reduce year-end pressure and ensure their reporting is clear, compliant and useful to stakeholders.
If you were unable to attend, or would like to revisit the session, you can watch the recording below.
