The Company
Established in 2017, Cryoblast Deflashing UK Ltd is a manufacturer of cryogenic blast deflashing compound – a processing aid consumable used to improve the finish of plastic and rubber moulded parts.
Based in Wrexham, its products are destined for the likes of major German car manufacturers, yet variations of its outputs are still in the development stage. The product is niche; ultimately, Cryoblast Deflashing is aiming to develop a process whereby it can produce a deflashing plastic media that is superior to anything else currently available on the market. The company is focused on manufacturing perfect cubed or cylindrical pieces of deflashing compound, in various sizes, reaching as small as 0.4mm.
The Solution
We had been recommended to Cryoblast Deflashing by one of the company’s partners, who highlighted our ability to identify areas of expenditure from which R&D Tax Relief could be claimed. With its core product still in its infancy, the company’s engineers opted to use our services to release capital which could be put towards developing the product further.
By claiming against the purchasing of raw materials required for trials, consumables such as utilities, adaptations and machine componentry, as well as staff wages and subcontractor costs, we were able to access a cash refund, which will be reinvested back into the development of Cryoblast Deflashings’ hero product.
