Champion Round-Up | 28th February

Champion Round-Up | By Ged Cosgrove, group managing partner

During an outstanding 12 months, the Champion family have collectively raised and donated more than £60,000 to causes close to our hearts in celebration of our 50th anniversary.

We set a goal of raising £50,000 across all four Champion practices to mark 50 exceptional years in business. It’s fair to say we smashed that target, raising a total of £60,690.94, and I’m so incredibly proud of every Champion colleague’s hard work during our fundraising efforts.

Each office was asked to nominate local charities to support. Thanks to bake sales, some questionable Movember taches, our #ThreePeaksChallenge and more, we’ve been able to make sizable donations across the length and breadth of the region to a wide array of great causes:

  • The Manchester office donated to Francis House Children’s Hospice and Kidscan Children’s Cancer Research
  • Our Chester team gave to Nightingale House Hospice, Claire House Children’s Hospice and Neuro Therapy Centre
  • The team in Preston opted to support Southport Foodbank
  • And in Blackpool, our team nominated Streetlife and N-Vision

Alongside local charities, we also donated to several national causes, including almost £19,000 to Samaritans, £11,000 to Barnardo’s, more than £9,000 to the Frost Foundation, £975 to the Movember Foundation and in excess of £300 to Macmillan.

I’d like to thank our clients, colleagues, partners, friends, family members and more for their support as we took on this challenge. Every donation, large or small, was so greatly appreciated, and will make a remarkable difference to communities up and down the country.

Here’s to 60 years!
