Following on from last night’s announcement by the Prime Minister, that the country has been plunged back into a national lockdown until mid-February; the Chancellor has today announced further financial support for affected businesses.
The Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, has announced one off top up grants for businesses within the hospitality, retail and leisure sectors worth up to £9000 per property, to help businesses through the spring.
In addition, a £594 million discretionary fund has been made available to Local Authorities and devolved administrations to support other businesses not eligible for the grants, who are also affected by the restrictions.
No further details have been made available at this time as to when the grants will be available or how to apply for them.
